How the pilot works
We’re starting with the supply side first: vendors, products, pricing, photos and fulfilment. The full marketplace comes after that.
The pilot in four steps
Apply
Tell us what you sell, where you’re based, what products you could provide, and whether you can fulfil orders during a pilot.
We select the first vendors
The first group will be curated so the marketplace feels strong from the beginning.
We create the first product drops
Products will be shaped into edits like gifts, homeware, jewellery, food and drink, makers and seasonal collections.
We test sales properly
Before adding dashboards and complicated systems, we’ll test what buyers actually respond to.
Operationally honest
We are not pretending the full marketplace is ready before the supply side is ready.
First we find the right vendors, the right products and the right way to sell them. That is how we avoid launching something that looks good but does not work.
What success looks like
10-20 suitable vendor applications, 5+ strong founding vendors and enough real products to create the first Edinburgh Gift Edit.
